SST-Porous® Adhesive Vents
Waterproof • Dustproof • Breathable pressure equalization for sealed outdoor electronics
SST-Porous® adhesive vents use an ePTFE microporous membrane to let air pass while blocking water, dust, and contaminants. In sealed outdoor housings, temperature swings, altitude changes, and washdown create pressure differentials. Those differentials stress gaskets, deform covers, and draw moist air inward—then condensation forms on boards, lenses, and connectors.
A low-profile peel-and-stick vent continuously equalizes that pressure, so the enclosure can remain sealed without building damaging internal pressure. Standard die-cut parts and custom shapes, thicknesses, and airflow rates are available.
Typical performance window
- Protection: IP67 / IP68; IP69K on selected grades (application- and install-dependent)
- Air permeability: about 300–2500 ml/min/cm² @ 7 kPa, depending on grade
- Water entry pressure: about 30–100 kPa / 60 s
- Construction: 100% ePTFE, or ePTFE with polyester / PP support
- Colors: gray, white, black, blue
- Temperature: typically −40 to 160 °C (support-layer grades may be lower)
